Nothing too spicy or exciting, the "naughtiness" in the title refers to the new content filters Livejournal has installed. To adjust your filters, simply go to www.livejournal.com/manage/settings --but beware! If you mark your journal as any setting but "No Adult Content", nobody will be able to see your journal unless they also have Livejournal accounts and are logged in or have confirmed their age. This goes for the "Adult Concepts" rating (14 and up) and the "Explicit" rating (18 and up). Of course, if you want to be able to see the spicier end of LJ, you'll have to adjust your settings to allow it to return such material on searches as well.

I don't know what all the ramifications of this will be- if you want to get new readers for an LJ blog (for fanfic, art, promotional or readership reasons), it seems the only option would be to select the "No Adult Content" rating. But if you have adult content on your journal (be it fiction, art, photos, language, what have you), and it is not marked as such, will you be punished or deleted? And who decides what is too adult and what isn't? What about folks like me? I don't usually have full on naughtiness going on in the journal, but I do talk about pr0n quite regularly and link to NSFW things. Will I be punished if a 14 year old link-hops from my journal to the frontpage of an adult website or and adult oriented blog? This is a sticky situation. Especially since I have many friends, relatives and artists who are not on LJ who like to read this to keep up to date on my life. Vexing.

Errands-wise, today was filled with going and doing. To the bank, to make sure the rent can be paid! To the Wal-Mart, to get more cat food! To the PMB, to pick up the mail and the latest shipment of comics! To the bookstore, to pick up the new volume of Nana! (I had a half-used gift card I found when I cleaned out my purse and my totebag- it's easily over a year old... but it still worked! Score!) Back home, to wallow in paperwork! Truly, an exciting, thrill ride of a day!

In other things, our online store is acting goofy, and the main page cannot be accessed. We must call the server guy tomorrow morning. We can still get into the admin sections, and nothing in there is messed up, but the front page is just erroring out. Vexing!

Not vexing: we were approved for Project Wonderful ad boxes! I made our first ad box today, and we will be uploading it to the Sin Factory site tomorrow or the day after. Also not vexing: our first ever chargeback from our online store was settled in our favor! Basically, someone ordered a book, and then tried to claim they never got it after we shipped it. But I had gotten tracking on the package and so we disputed it and sent off the proper information. So, we got our money back. Hooray!

We're still scraping money together for our upcoming expenses (barcodes, taxes, Further Confusion travel), so here are more auctions! Please check them out!
eBay auctions are here!
FurBid auctions are here!

Just finished reading:
Finn Family Moomintroll by Tove Jansson, which was charming and very happy-making.
Earthian Vol. 1 by Yun Kouga, a surprisingly dense read for a girly boy's love manga...

It continues! We got Furrlough #174 and Milk #59 turned in last week; today we get to pay for the printing, which has me chewing my nails as usual. We're also working on Hit the Beach #14. Once again behind the deadline eight ball. And there's manga project work coming out of our ears.

The weekend was quiet, I got a very mild case of heat stroke after visiting the Mission Flea Market and lost hours to a nap afterwards. That old Texas sun is determined to kill me, especially if I walk around on asphalt in it for a while. (Of course I was covered in 50-proof sunscreen and drank a liter of water while we walked around, but the heat was pretty strong. Next time: bring an umbrella to keep the sun from hitting me so hard.) I'm still tired out from it today.

Today is mail order, subscriptions and auctions day around here, so I am off to get that started. It looks to be a very busy week, as usual.

Media Recently Finished: 12 Reasons Why I Love Her by Jamie S. Rich & Joelle Jones; Swan Vol. 8 by Kyoko Ariyoshi; The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory; Cat Getting Out of a Bag by Jeffrey Brown. I enjoyed all of these very much!
Currently Reading: Kushiel's Scion by Jacqueline Carey (they gave this away for free at SDCC! Score!); Swan Vol. 9 by Kyoko Ariyoshi
Currently Watching: The Muppet Show Season 2 (Suarez got it right away and brought it over); still working on Buffy Season 5, Angel Season 1, Carnivale Season 1 and Gilmore Girls Season 3.
Currently Playing: the usual (WoW, Sims2: Seasons), plus Pokemon: Emerald ([livejournal.com profile] suarez gave me an extra copy he had) and Harvest Moon DS (it's only $9.95 at Best Buy! that's a huge savings!)

We had an impressive thunderstorm roll in last night. It meant I got kicked off Warcraft in the middle of doing the guild banking, when the power went out. (Sorry to disappear like that, [livejournal.com profile] smudge_dragon... I was peeved because Tuesday is my main night to get to play now too!) The power went off two more times. It sucked, a lot. Fortunately, I have a lot of Mexican saint candles all over the house, so we didn't have to just sit here in the dark till the power came back. (Though, going to the bathroom by candle light? I don't recommend it...)

Sadly, the giant thunder and lightning display made every single car alarm go off every fifteen minutes for pretty much the whole night. Our apartment is on an outside corner of the building, right next to a parking lot. There was no sleeping to be had, because quite frankly, ten to fifteen car alarms going off at once sounds like the freaking Apocalypse is coming. Today, it seems to have cleared up, but I bet there is some flooding in some parts of San Antonio, since the concepts of "rain gutters" and "storm drains" were completely lost on our city planners. Yeah, even though we get torrential rains at least once every single year.

Today I have to bother Diamond about some paperwork to make sure Furrlough #170 can get printed, since the printer called me about it. Also have to work on mail order stuff, paperwork, manga projects, the website, email, mail sorting and answering and deal with more auction stuff. Probably should work in an errand to the PMB as well, and possibly the bank. And there's some more behind the scenes stuff I need to start wrangling, and A-Kon is coming up fast, so I need to poke the printers again about the program guide specs I asked about and start excavating freebie comics from storage to send them for pre-reg giveaways.

I'm tired and already inclined to be cranky today. I should go hug a cat for a five minutes so I can work without being pissed off or something...

Oh, I finished reading Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, and have started on the sequel, Pretties. They're a really quick read. And oh yes, my swollen tonsil is going down on its own now. I think my allergies just made it freak out or something. What are tonsils even for?
