Lupin III Caramelldansen! I especially love that they have all three blazer colors represented. It's like the eras of Lupin in chibi dancing form! Tiny dancing Goemon is my favorite, I think.

Paging [livejournal.com profile] trecomics and [livejournal.com profile] jameshanrahan, there's a new Cutey Honey on the scene:

Link in case the embed doesn't work.

Cutey Honey: The Live, a new TV show.

Stolen shamelessly from [livejournal.com profile] neodragonstar. Seems like they are ramping up the cheesecake factor (which is saying something, since it's a Go Nagai creation) and from what I see in the opening, the main bad guy is a dude...? No way, Honey is supposed to fight hot chicks who may or may not have a sapphic interest in her! Have these people learned nothing from Golden Age Wonder Woman?! XD

Fuwa!

I am currently all about the Fuwa, the mascots for the 2008 Beijing Olympics right now. I'm not even that into the Olympics anymore, I can never catch the events I want. It's not like when I was a little kid, and the Olympics were a huge deal that everyone watched on network TV. And honestly, I can't remember a single other Olympic mascot. But the Fuwa have changed everything! They're so awesome!

And they are absolutely adorable. But don't just take my word for it, look at how cute they are!

SO adorable. [livejournal.com profile] jetbaby and [livejournal.com profile] atomicpanda, you can also download desktop wallpapers featuring them here.

The other adorable thing rocking my world right now? Lloromannic (look out, there's music on that page), a Japan-only Sanrio creation. Goth demon blobs! Augh, so cute! And the keychains have light up eyes?! Must Own! Sanrio is always so quick on the trends, witness them cashing in on the gothic lolita craze!

Also, Sanrio Japan kicks all kinds of butt because they have special Halloween exclusive items (the Sanrio US site just goes on about Kimora Lee Simmons, pfft, who cares), AND the San-X site has special Halloween themed desktop wallpapers stuck in among their usual downloads section (just scroll around and look for the orange...).

Cute things make me so happy. ^_^

In Japan anyway, where they have already developed Hatsune Miku, a synthesized idol. Using Vocoloid 2 software from Yamaha, she can sing any song you choose. Near as I can figure out, she must be the perfect idol singer- she'll never age, never grow up, never cause any scandals, and she has the cutesy vocal stylings so popular in Japan. Her adorable mascot character design probably isn't hurting her any either! Yamaha will be releasing two more "virtual idols" using this software.

Considering how popular video game characters have been in both Japan and America (since you can basically attach any personality or quirks you want to, as they are essentially cyphers), I suspect the personality-free Hatsune-san will be incredibly popular. There's already an all-Hatsune-Miku doujin event in Japan.

Videos of our future computer pop star overlord under the cut.

So, so weird. Yet so fascinating!

In other things, work continues, lots of it. Also, money is tight right now due to checks not coming in when they are supposed to, so once again I will flog my auctions.

Dicking around with YouTube while I print a bunch of stuff out for review. I find all kinds of retarded things on there! And also, things that maybe me and one or two other people would think are cool... all videos in the cut to save browsers.

It's getting on towards spring and Easter season again, so I must echo [livejournal.com profile] ldragoon's excellent advice about not buying live bunnies as Easter pets! Bunnies are high maintenence, grow ridiculously fast, are long-lived, need a lot of training, can be very destructive (more so than cats, because they need to chew) and should not be looked at as disposable pets. Well, no pet should be looked at as a disposable pet, really, though people do it all the time. I do not own bunnies myself, because before I bought one, I read massive amounts of info about their care and upkeep, and realized that no matter how cute I thought they were, I didn't have the time to devote to proper care and training. (And, the cats would probably be Very Displeased at sharing their space with a bunny...)

In other things, [livejournal.com profile] parasitegirl linked to a Japanese elementary school song about Oni Underpants, and the page had music on it so I could hear the tune (don't click the link if you don't want to hear the music). I know that tune is from somewhere, but where?! It's driving me nuts! I can't stop humming it.

We made the rent, which was a difficult task, and now are completely broke. It's stressful since there are other bills coming due very, very fast. We are owed money from a couple of different quarters, but are in the fun stage of "let's wait for checks!", my most favorite stage. Ah, comic books. Never money when you need it the most. So, naturally, I still have a ton of eBay auctions and FurBid auctions up for sale.

In other things, updated the online store, dealt with a bunch of mail order paperwork, packed more subscriptions and more trib copy packages, worked some more on the Manga Project X deadline (coming up in only a couple of weeks on the first hard deadline there), processed a bunch of orders, answered a ton of email, and obsessively checked up on the (NSFW) adult site. We're up to six actual subscribers! I'm hoping we can get enough scraped together to give ViSA their bribe non-refundable deposit, so we can finally accept ViSA cards on there.

There's lots of other stuff going on, but I haven't had time to post about it, so I end up forgetting the specifics of what I did each day- it all starts to blur together into a blob called "work". Having had horrible allergies the last few days has not helped matters any. I am already tired of the sinus headaches. I am off to do more work now, after I run the rent check over to the apartment office.

Oh, and PS, we got a spam fax call at 6:30 am today. Of course, the caller ID just said "Unknown Caller", so we can't even report their number. Feh!

Because today has been kinda sucky all around for a lot of people I know, we all need puffy dog therapy!

This puppy is so adorable it hurts, seriously.

Gundam nerd to cosplay as Char for tourist trip to space!

Somehow, I find this very amusing. It's like the end of Otaku no Video, made flesh. ^_^

Today, I worked at VGSX. It was average, although apparently, today was the day when all the hardcore video game nerds decided to come in and make cutting pronouncements in a desperate attempt to convince themselves and other people that they were "cool".

After work, we went to eat at Pho Cong Ly in order to celebrate [livejournal.com profile] denshousha's birthday. We were joined by Den's friend TH, DD, DG, AG, [livejournal.com profile] suarez, [livejournal.com profile] jameshanrahan, [livejournal.com profile] dustmeat and JAR. Tasty Vietnamese food was consumed, and then the group split in two. Our group ended up coming to our apartment, where we watched Godzilla: Final War courtesy of James. Man oh man, if you are a Godzilla fan and a fan of Godzilla continuity, this is the movie for you! I was delighted by the appearance of Mothra, my favorite giant monster since childhood. The movie was pretty damn sweet, as it was directed by the guy who did Versus, so it was chock full of awesome fighting and big explosions. Also, the monsters were NOT CG, which just warms my daikaiju-loving heart to the core. And ladies? The guys in the movie are pretty darn good-looking, in that j-pop/j-rock idol singer way. Much fun was had by all.

Now, however, I have a killer headache, so I will retire semi-early so I can go over manga pages first thing tomorrow morning.
