Unhappy, worried, stressed and displeased about many things currently; dispassionate bullet points to follow:

--Yubi, my cat who now lives with [livejournal.com profile] matthigh is probably not long for this world, at age 15 and riddled with cancer tumors. I raised her since she was a terribly inbred kitten, and she's lived twice as long as actually expected, but the fact that she may die soon is still hitting me very hard.

--The final move of everything from the apartment to the house seems to be molasses-like and it is stressing me ridiculously.

--There will most likely be no wedding reception this year. We honestly cannot afford it, still have no venue, and it would be less than two months away. There has not been enough time for me to work on it and now it is too late for much of what we wanted to happen to get arranged. And it's not like we're not already married. So, sorry everyone who wanted a party, there will be no party. Maybe someday. And maybe pigs will fly someday, too.

--Still sad about John Hughes' death and awfully stricken by the senseless murders of those women in the health club at the hands of certified crazy-pants George Sodini. Google him and read his online journal. If you've ever thought that way about women? Get professional help, seriously, because we are not objects to be acquired like level-ups in video games. [livejournal.com profile] catseatdogs has a better and sharper commentary on the incident than I can muster right now.

Off to work in the comic/game mines today. My days off were switched this week.

Comments disabled because I don't even want to talk about this stuff right now. Sorry.

In just a little bit, I will be going to pick up the keys to the new apartment. Then, the hellish task of moving everything over will commence, probably starting around 10 am.

I already have a knotted muscle in the back of my leg right above my knee (a possible charlie horse), and I've already jammed my middle finger on my right hand (and somehow stabbed myself in the quick under my nail...). Thus, the move is already christened in blood. XD (Honestly, sometimes I'm just really clumsy. This is why I don't do sports.) I was up until well past 4 am packing stuff, and there's still much more to pack.

I'm pretty nervous and stressed out (big life changes and I don't get along, generally), but I think it will go okay. I hope, anyway!

My insomnia is back again. This is most unpleasant.

The week has been very busy, with more to do looming ahead of me like the monolith in 2001. I'm sure it'll get done, but with my screwy sleep lately, I do not know how quickly it will all get accomplished. Vexing!

Also vexing: the insistence of the apartment complex to have painters swarm every single surface on the outside of the apartments, and to put notes on our door about this THE DAY the painting is supposed to happen. Or the day after! That's helpful. Always helpful to be awakened at the crack of fuck-all by a painter knocking on the door so we can move [livejournal.com profile] willworks' car. Which happened, I swear, three times this week.

Sure, they can paint the shit out of this place, but they can't be arsed to fix the broken sink in our bathroom that streams hot water 24/7, which has been doing so for about four weeks now. And, which we have now, collectively, put in no less than four work order requests about it. I can only assume they get some kind of kickback off of our water bill, which was EIGHTY FUCKING DOLLARS this month.

Lack of sleep apparently makes me cranky, and makes me type more swears. Alas!

This Saturday is the local Asian Festival at the Institute of Texan Cultures. We're thinking about going. [livejournal.com profile] dustmeat, I am looking your way. Also another thing Megs might be interested in: starting February 22, they are having a Whooping Crane Festival in Port Aransas. I will be out of town that weekend (visiting my mom, who I haven't seen since my grandmother died in December 2005...), but I thought you would want to know so you can go see the birds!

[livejournal.com profile] matthigh will be back in San Antonio soon, and we are all looking forward to that. We're hoping his trip is going well.

Now to tackle some housework so I can conceivably take some time to go to that thing this weekend with less slacking guilt than usual. I already have masses of slacking guilt because I spent my lunch break the other day prepping screenshots so I could update my Sims 2 journal. But, I learned how to make actions in Photoshop all by myself, so it's all good.
