This One Would Like To Speak...
UK Police discover Gor-related cult. It amuses me endlessly that there are people out there who want to live their lives based on John Norman's Gor novels. Mostly from the standpoint that those novels are really terrible as novels. Not the best writer in the world, but I guess if you postulate the idea that women are naturally submissive (*snort*) and should be the property of men, folks will line up in droves to read! Not folks I'd generally want to hang around with, but there you go- we all know I have crazy ideas that people should be equal regardless of race or gender. ^_^
In other stuff, as a follow-up to something I wrote a while back, San Diego Comic Con has added some female guests of honor. Amanda Conner, Gail Simone and Linda Medley are all signed up for guest slots. So hooray! It's still a tiny percentage, but it's a step in the right direction. And hey, Yoshitaka Amano! Whoo!
There are a million things to do this weekend. Finish Genus #77 today and get it dropped off, ship more reorders, get restock out of the storage, get the mail order and subscriptions finished and shipped off, and post some auctions. Plus, I have some submission stuff to go over and a metric ton of email to answer. So, as much as I would like to play Animal Crossing or Warcraft, I will be working instead. I also have to finish making the crafted items I am doing for A-kon- last night I almost finished a cute little mini totebag made with My Little Pony fabric, I just have to finish the second strap. And I am in the middle of two more scarves, including my first "re-imagined" Hogwarts scarf. (I'm taking Hogwarts scarf colors, but doing them in more of a punky, emo-kid style- skinnier, ribbed knitting, that kind of thing. People might hate them, but I think they look cooler than the giant only-really-good-for-cold-climates scarves you see in the movies.) Why yes, I am a tremendous nerd, thank you very much.
Off to work!
