Off We Go...

We're leaving for Anthrocon in just a little bit, so I will most likely be offline for the duration of the trip. (Unless we can score some free internet... but I never count on that.) Thus, don't panic if we are incommunicado until we get back from the convention.

We should be back around the 1st or 2nd of July, barring any unusual travel issues. Then, upon our return, we will be turning in books at a feverish pace, I will be catching up on shifts at my comic shop day job, and the preparations for the Big Move to the new apartment will probably move into the "frenzied panic" stage. So, we will probably all be very preoccupied once we get home as well.

Wish us luck on our drive to Pittsburgh! I've never been to Pennsylvania, so this will be a first for me. I checked out the weather forecast for the weekend, and it looks like highs in the mid-80's, humid and possibly rainy. Oh noes, how will I ever survive? ^_~ We're currently rocking highs in the high 90's-low 100's, with high humidity, so I predict I will be unfazed by the weather in Pittsburgh.

Stay out of Centralia, PA! It used to be a nice little town with a coalmine, until back in the 60s, part of an exposed coal seam caught fire, and now the ENTIRE FUCKING MINE is burning. Yes, even now, 45+ years later. There's smoke coming up from sewer grates, streets that collapse, and all kinds of horrific awesome shit. My Environmental Geology professor said, and I quote, it "looks like Hades".

So, yeah, avoid Centralia like it has the plague, unless you want to fall through the street and end up in Silent Hill. Which I know you don't, because you're easily-terrified. ;p
