Video Game Meme
Because I finally have a day off, which means I can do LAUNDRY! YAY! Thus, I do a meme in between loads, and cause all the cool kids are doin' it.
In the cut, foo's:
1) What was your FIRST video game console?
It wasn't mine, it was my pop's. He had an Atari 2600, and we played the heck out of that thing. Loved all those goofy games.
2) Name a few games you played on said console.
Space Invaders, Tank, Missile Command (there is no winning in Missile Command....), Pong and the game with the various flat generic cowboys who sat down when you shot them.
3) Excluding handhelds, how many VG consoles do you own presently?
But I love my handheld! I am going to count consoles the husband owns as well, under community property so: NES, Sega Saturn, N64 (I think...), DreamCast, XBox, XBox 360, Playstation, Playstation 2, GameCube, Wii. Does the computer count? I play games on that too. (Remember also, he used to manage a video game store, so he got a lot of these used...)
4) Were you a Street Fighter nut? Any character in particular?
Not really. I like it okay, but it's not my favorite. I don't think I even have a favorite character. Maybe Dan? That girl with the big sausage curls I can't even remember the name of? Yeah, I'm not so much into the Street Fighter. Puzzle Fighter is a whole other story.
5) Do you think Capcom is a FUCKING awesome company with kickass character designs?
I do love their designs. They do a great job on that aspect.
6) Here's the scenario.. You had some friends over and you all ate FRIED CHICKEN! After the meal you all decide to play some video games. As your friend reaches for a controller you notice his/her hands are very "greasy." Are you the type that would insist they wash their hands before pawing the controller, or is it no big deal?
Jesus, wash your damn hands before you ruin my controllers. That's nasty.I don't go into other people's houses and mess up their stuff, so they shouldn't mess up mine.
7) What's your favorite RPG/Action RPG?
Hmmmm, the last one I really loved was Zelda II. (I'm OLD.) I like La Pucelle, but it's more of a tactics RPG.
8) Do you prefer 2D games or 3D games?
I don't have a preference, but 3D sometimes gives me a headache. And I can't play platformers that are 3D, I fall off everything. Apparently, I have no depth perception in a fake environment.
9) Are you an SNK fan?
Again, not really. I never got into KoF, because there were too many characters to keep track of. I liked Neo-Geo games a lot though.
9) Are you good at DDR?
I fail at all dancing games. Which makes absolutely no sense, if you know me.
10) Who wants to kick that dog's ass from Duck Hunt?
I never played Duck Hunt. My dad was more into science fiction type games.
11) Have you skipped out on important events in life because of video games?
No.
12) Do you listen to video game music?
Because of the husband, yes. He likes a lot of 8-bit music. And Megaman music. I like some of the music from WoW and The Sims 2, but I don't listen to it outside of the game.
13) Have you ever cosplayed a VG character?
Yes. I did Um Jammer Lammy and an Animal Crossing girl.(From the first one!) EDIT: And I forgot, I also dressed as a Piplup Pokemon gijinka.
14) Have you ever been in an arcade playing a fighting game, KICKING ASS, and then some 6 year old Asian kid comes in and OWNS YOU??
No, I always would be quietly playing a puzzle game by myself, and then some jerky dude would come up, throw in his token and kick my ass, usually in the hopes that this feat would cause me to talk to them and possibly date them. All it did was piss me off, because I would be out tokens and who wants to hang out with a dude who's going to be such a butthole? They'd always turn to me all smug after they beat me, like "eh? see that, missy? ain't I awesome?" No, you're just an ass.
15) Name three games you would love to see remakes of if it was done properly
Considering I consistently end up buying every remake of Harvest Moon that comes out, I don't have any remakes I want to see. I want to finish the games I have first!
16) Mario or Sonic?
I like Mario a little better. Mostly because he's just got a charming attitude. Sonic is all right, but I absolutely suck at Sonic games. I do get all excited when I see trailers with both characters, though- like the ads for the Mario/Sonic Olympics game for the Wii.
17) When a movie shows up in the theaters, let's use Spider-man as an example, are you likely to buy the GAME version?
Nope. I like games with more original concepts. Though, in the 80's we had the Conan computer game on our Apple IIe, and that game was hilaribad. We played it constantly for the lulz.
18) What is your LEAST favorite genre of video games? (ex. fighting, sports, shooters, etc.)
I suck at shooting games, sports games (unless it's like Wii Sports, or goofy sports type stuff), and am not so awesome at fighting games, even though I like them. I guess my least favorites would be zombie games because I hate zombies and suck at the shooting aspect.
19) Is there a game out there that you feel was unique and didn't get enough love?
Fighting Vipers was hardly unique, but no one seemed to care about it. (I liked it a lot...) Hands down though, I will go with Battle Balls, which is unique and awesome!
20) Have you ever verbally abused a game because you couldn't beat one of the levels and/or bosses?
Um, I constantly yell at games, even benign ones like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon.
21) Do you own any VG apparel?
I have some t-shirts, mostly from my tenure at the video game store. I got all the freebie promo shirts that were a) pink and/or b) small. I have a WoW Horde button I wear on my leather jacket, too. And uh, I still wear the jeans that were modified for my Um Jammer Lammy pants. ^_^; (They're comfy!)
22) What are your thoughts on the live-action Super Mario Bros movie?
It's probably one of Bob Hoskins' weirdest roles.
23) On that note, what did you think about the live-action Street Fighter movie?
Raul Julia has to have this as his last film?! Also, WHY IS CAMMY WEARING LONG PANTS?!
24) Who's hottest out of the KOF chicks?
I don't even know their names, so I will go with the one that looks like a lesbian in the sleeveless half shirt and tie. Vanessa? I don't know. There's nine million KoF characters, I can't keep track of who's who.
25) Do you say "old-school" a lot when you're having a VG conversation with others?
With my friends? Sadly, yes. But as we are older, we actually mean it.
26) Have you ever lent someone a game and they returned it to you damaged?

A couple. Suar has a ton.

29) In this scenario, let's pretend you're going to get a video game tattoo! What would you get and where?
Hmmm, that's a tough one. I guess I'd get one on my arm, probably the Wheel of Fortune or The Empress from Magical Drop III. Most likely the chibi forms. Possibly a Horde symbol from WoW, most likely the orc crest. But I'm not a tattoo person, so of course, this is pretend.
30) Have you ever cried after you beat a game? If so why?
No, most of the games I play never seem to end.... (resource management games, life simulation games, etc.) I do get very sad when pets die in my Sims 2 game though, it really bothers me. And I used to get sad in Monster Rancher when my monsters got old.

And yeah, it's a lot of yelling during fishing. Mostly for catching yet more Sea Bass and Crucian Carp, which I always call "Crucial Crap". Ha! I'm hilarious and oh-so-clever! XD
