Furrlough Votes

Top 100 Furrlough stories for April 2006. Plus, since it's our anniversary month, the other stories that have gotten votes as well, up to #203.

It's interesting that so many older stories stay so high on the list, while others slip off. I was tempted to do some data crunching to see how many stories were completed/one-shots and how many just ended up in story limbo (no ending in sight, artists wandered off never to be heard from again), but decided against it, since it would be too depressing.

How often do you get requests for some of the older (and completed) series to get started again.. like Stosstrupp for example?

CONSTANTLY. Seriously. But it's up to the artists and whether or not they have the time to devote to drawing comics as a hobby. In our end of the pool there's so little money and it takes so long to generate, it's impossible to make a living off this stuff. (Heck, that's why I have a day job!)

Supposedly, Ted wants to do more Stosstrupp, but he's got such a demanding day job, he's just fried by the end of the day, which makes it hard to do art. We've been after him for a couple of years to let us do a Stosstrup graphic novel of the older stuff, but he wants to redraw some of it.

I figured it had to be something like that.

Whee! Pencilled pages! ^_^ Yeah, there's no rush on this stuff. ^_^ We're just happy whenever new comic pages come in.

And I'm not sure which story you mean that you think I'd be mad about... drop me an email at radiocomix (at) gmail (dot) com and fill me in! ^_^ (Now I am all curious!)

IU'd be really 9interested to see that breakdown, even if it is depressing, because such info is educaqtional to other folks like, "Look! If you finish your story, you will be remembered."

Hmm, that is an interesting aspect I hadn't even considered! Though, out of the top ten alone, there are six "to be continued" stories that haven't had a chapter in ages. I didn't count Ebin & May, since it's still ongoing and I know Smudge is working on more, and I know Thor is also doing more Tales of Marga when he can. Strange how so many stories capture the imagination of the readers, and then disappear. I mean, heck, there's not been a chapter of Ninjara since issue #52!

I may crunch that data yet when the taxes stop kicking my butt!

*pencile* *pencile* *erease* *pencile* *ink*

Be sending more "Ebin & May" sometime this year... really....

And it was nice to see that I still appear in the top 100, even after all these many years.
