Comic artist and personality divalea (Lea Hernandez, artist of Cathedral Child, Rumble Girls and Clockwork Angels) has just had a devastating house fire. All humans (Lea, her husband and her two kids) were able to get out of the house safely, but all the family pets died of smoke inhalation. (Two dogs, and four cats, including Sprocket, the Siamese we used to have at the AP offices back when I worked there. I named Sprocket when she was just a kitten, so I'm pretty sad about it.) I am just thankful the kids got out safely.

The house is half burned, half smoke damaged. They have lost everything, including clothes. (Not to mention years worth of original art, computer equipment and backed up files.) Help if you can. This kind of random accident is the worst kind of thing that can happen to a family.

I wish I could do more too! I am already gonna call the guys at the local video game store, to see what can be done towards replacing her daughter's Nintendo DS.
