Stole these links from [livejournal.com profile] okojosan, I have no clue where she found them. But I had to share with all my WoW-lovin' homies!

Male Blood Elf Animations I like how he seems like every megalomaniacal anime villain. Heh heh heh...

Female Blood Elf Animations Her dance is soooooo familiar, yet I cannot place it. I also like that she seems both evil and bitchy in all her emotes.

Male Draenei Animations He's so cool! And how can you not love his "Tunak Tunak Tun" dance? I was planning to make a male Draenei for that reason alone, but he's just made of awesome anyway.

Female Draenei Animations! The one I've been waiting for! They are cute as buttons! I just wish they weren't on the Alliance side, since I just prefer Horde these days. I am SO jazzed about her dance animation, too! It looks like they went with a Bollywood girl kind of thing, yay! Which means she matches the male Draenei. ^_^

Ranged Attack Animations Female and Male Draenei just look totally cool with their guns.

All in all, I am even more excited about the release of the Burning Crusade expansion now. ^_^ Although, I think the Draenei are way too cool, and thus, the "population balancing" hopes for the new races are probably going to be dashed. The Blood Elves aren't slutty enough to make people want to play Horde, unfortunately.

Where did the female dances come from? They do not look familiar to me.

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure it's Bollywood-inspired at least. It reminds me of the dances in various Bollywood musicals I've seen, anyway.

[identity profile] badjahsensei.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'm digging the Draenei myself. They're no Pandaren, but they might get me to go Alliance when the expansion comes out. :)

The Blood Elves aren't slutty enough to make people want to play Horde, unfortunately.

And that makes this Horde player very happy. Let the adolescents stay on the Alliance side. :)

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh never you fear, the Horde will soon be over-run with 12 year olds making Blood Elves and naming them Sephiroth and Legolas and Cloud and Vincent. There is no escape. -_-;

[identity profile] badjahsensei.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
All the more reason to roll a Draenei and start cutting them down to size.

It's so funny to be somewhere like Sithilus or Everlook and have the female NE players try flirting with my Tauren.

So. totally. barking. up. the. wrong. tree. :)

[identity profile] ex-narumi508.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
followed those links and saw the link for the joke animations too...omg...

nothing like wow animations to distract you from wow LOL haven't checked the BE dance but doubt I can place it.

[identity profile] ex-narumi508.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
actually...i know someone told me what it was before and can't remember, but it looks kinda like...thriller >_>

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's a little Thriller like in one spot, but I know I have seen it in something else.... I wish I could figure it out!

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
No fair on the Dreinai gun animations!

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
What, you don't like the cocking of the shotgun and the Evil Dead shotgun twirl? I think they are cool!

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
I like it. It's no fair they get it. Heh

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
I can't place that female Blood Elf dance either. It does seem very familiar. Not Thriller. Though that sort of clawing the air bit does seem like it. I wish I could place it.
I hope it's not from something so stupid that I'll feel bad about it seeming familiar, at least.
Strangly, I kinda like it. I like that she seems only like half into it and that it doesn't look slutty at all. Sure won't look good on top of a mailbox.
Thank god.

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
You know... Is it one of Madona's 80's videos? Like, I dunno, Lucky Star or something? Some of the moves -- I can almost picture who the origianl was. Like the extended arm point then pointing up. I swear! My brains! I can almost picture it but I don't know who it is!
ARG!

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ok, not Lucky Star. Totally forgot what that video was like. Thank you, Youtube. Lucky Star has to be one of the worst videos ever.
Wow.
Still, that dance seems way familiar.

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Found it! Britney Spears- "Toxic"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pV_wRk-_lI

Knew I had seen it somewhere. ^_^

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Noooo! Then why does it seem familiar? I might have seen that video like twice, tops.
Guess that was enough.

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Weird. Just watched it and didn't really see the moves in it. I dunno. Maybe it's in the laser grid part. That was kinda dark on my screen.

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
It looks like they mixed up the choreography, but the moves are there all right. Heh heh, Blood Elves are Britney Spears! I am amused.

[identity profile] ex-narumi508.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
i have never seen that video LOL

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I give up. It is Toxic. Wouldn't know it from the video but did a youtube search and found her doing a live version of it an, yeah, I guess that's the dance. I still don't see it in the actual video.
Oh well, it keeps their tradition of crappy female character dances going. I mean, it's better than the undead female dance but... The orginal elf dance was the twist and I think it looked cool.
Hate the page but best video of it I've found: http://realbedancesong.ytmnd.com/

[identity profile] the-mouthpiece.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
According to the internets, The female night elf dance is actually based on a dance by a French singer named Alizee.

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. In fact, the second BE female dance (the one after the twist) was based on her too, I believe.

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, the night elf dance is pretty established. When the first made the Blood Elves though, they made them do the twist, like in Pulp Fiction. GUess they scrapped it though in favor of Britney and Napoleon. ^_^

[identity profile] the-mouthpiece.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Daaaamn, those are some seriously Tex Avery inspired character animations. I love how they bounce and squish in that old-style. Especially the elfy ears.

Of course, I bet 90% of the WoW demographic has no effin idea who Tex Avery is.

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
From the name, obviously a cowboy of some sort, right?

Kidding

[identity profile] hecatemahadevi.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, yes. Blood Elves are way hot. The Draenai confuse me, though. Aren't they the ancestral race of the Orcs? Then why do they have hooves and tails? Are they supposed to be aliens or something?

Assuming I ever play, I'll probably still stick to Tauren =P

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
They are aliens. The Protoss from Starcraft, I believe. Also, they are related to the Eredar and the Lost Ones. There's a bunch of lore about it out there somewhere. [livejournal.com profile] atomicpanda knows way more than me.

I think the deal is that Warcraft and Starcraft are related the same way Warhammer and Warhammer 40k are related. ^_^ But oh, no, Warcraft isn't a computer version of Warhammer, no sirree. ^_~

[identity profile] the-mouthpiece.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. They's be Protoss. Back in the early days of Warcraft III, they were going to be one of the racial options and had gotten far enough into production with them that some of the art/animation was released but then *poof* gone.

They weren't obvious cut/paste Protoss, but in that "Look closely and you'll see it" sort of way the Draenai are. Of course, the WoW protoss, and the WCIII protoss aren't the same designs. These look much cooler and if I was a WoW player I'd be pretty excited about them. Y'know.. if I was able to pry myself away from the squishy bounce elves and their hypnotic ears @.@

[identity profile] atomicpanda.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, nope. They aren't the Protoss. But, everyone has been saying they are as a sort of jab at Blizzard for, I guess, messing with Warcraft lore they way they have. Sort of like 'we have this nice little fantasy world and, oh look, interdimentional space aliens!'
I haven't kept up on and I don't know all that much about WoW lore but even Blizzard admitted they goofed on the Dreinai (Lorelol as the WoW posters call it). Totally broke lore in many places with them.
Ah well. No biggie. I mean, it's a game and they look neat.

[identity profile] pomobarney.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Blood elf male is very nice. And the Taureans still look cool to me. And I do have a disc with a one-week trial code...

Too bad Pete won't let me play anything other than City of Heroes. Granted, I don't know that I have the time or money for two games, anyway.

[identity profile] darklilith69.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Woah. Cool. Thanks for sharing! I had fully intended to play a Draenai femme and name her Randy just to mess with the Alliance. *grin* Plus you know me and hoofies...*chortle*

Oh, and by the way...before you purchase the Burning Crusade, write to me. I have a, um...source. *grin*

[identity profile] smudge-dragon.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
I think the the imbalance is not due to races, but more due to how blizz writes and expects people to play each side. Horde side seems to me to be written more for the hardcore gammer. Hince why on Horde-side there are fewer quests and they try and ram PvP down your throat (something I really detest). There are more casual gammers than hardcore ones. The only reason why I'm still playing horde is my friends, but my Alliance atls out do number my Hordies 2 to 1.

There are about the same number of a-holes on both sides as far as I've seen, though beggers tend to be more vocal on Horde. My /igonre list is filled with them.

I am looking forward to playing both a Bloodelf (probably a Pallie) and a Dreani (probably a hunter). I'm more looking forward to the rumors of new guild controls and praying for some sort of "guild account" to manage vault toons so that I can reclame my charater slots for more playable characters.

*hope* *hope*
