Odds and Ends...

The Radio Comix Forum is down at the moment, because PD, who owns the domain it was on, wasn't able to renew it. We'd put it up on the current Radio Comix online hosting, except, ha, that hosting doesn't support php based content. This isn't really a major problem though, since we are in the process of getting new hosting for the radiocomix.com domain (most likely with the good folks at DreamHost, where the SinFactory site is), and will be rebuilding a new, easier to update, more comic-filled site from scratch. I'm hoping all that can start fairly soonish, just have to do some coordinating on our end and get some design ideas out to the lovely and talented people who are helping us with the rebuild. So, we'll just make a new forum with a newer version of the php board we were using- which will hopefully deter the Albanian spambots from constantly signing up with fake accounts to tell us all about C1alis and V1agra. Rassin' frassin' spambots. We were literally deleting two to four hundred fake accounts per week on the old forum, which is just ridiculous. And that was using a captcha and everything!

In other Radio work news, we are still plugging away on Furrlough #186, hoping to get that off next week at the latest. Remember, these are the new 48-page issues, so there's plenty more room for longer stories. (Also, big pokes out to [livejournal.com profile] poinko re: Lancaster stuff!) Next book after that is Milk Presents: Greek Fire #1, which will be easy-peasy since it's a reprint book and we already have all the files. Also, we sent out a decent size batch of mail order tonight, as Wednesday is now the new day to get the weekly mail order out. I also have to remember to register us for Anthrocon 2009!

Day job work today was pretty regular, the usual busy Wednesday. I got a lot done though, so I felt good about that.

Auctions are still going on, so feel free to check them out in this link! Buy my old books, comics and manga! You won't regret it!

Oh, and I'm getting legally married at the courthouse on Friday to Mr. [livejournal.com profile] suarez. (This one is just for legal/insurance reasons; the actual wedding is next year.)

Big congrats, Elin!

I haven't been to the forum in so long I don't think I would've been able to remember my password.

HaHa! you're getting hitched on National Snout Day after all!!

Woohoo! Grats on impending wedded-ness! =)

Happy Paper Marriage! :D
Looking forward to the real thing next year.
Heck, I may even try to make it.
If that's okay.

Yeah, I was going to mention the forum was down...

Congrats on the marriage! =)

Are you going to have the clerk throw rice tomorrow? ^_~
Congrats on the nuptials, youse guys!

I think the last Radio forum was phpBB2.x something or other.
My latest forum uses Simple Machines, and I've noticed I have waaay less spam. I think phpBB3 is better than the 2 version(s) spam-wise, but I'm guessing the phpBB platform gets attacked more.

Conga rats on the wedding. ^_^ Here's hoping you guys' financial security improves enough that you can play WoW more often!

Also, I daresay that it's a good thing your forums can't be renewed in SlugNuts' web domain, because that's one less thing tying him to you. ;D

How many pages are creators allowed now that Furrlough has expanded? And I don't know if you got my last handful of emails either, because I didn't get any of my questions answered :(

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2008-10-13 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
You can have up to 22 pages if you want! Heck, I'd even say 28 is good. With 48 pages for us to play with, it makes for more space for everyone.

I am probably behind on the emails, since the day job has been keeping me so busy. Are you just emailing the radiocomix (at )gmail (dot) com address? I'd carbon copy stuff over to Will at willworks (at) gmail (dot) com, since he's the one who's going to be messing with the pages and he knows all the specs even better than I do...

[identity profile] poinko.livejournal.com 2008-10-13 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I send everything to Will, but I was just curious since I didn't get a reply to anything, so I didn't even know if you were getting what I was sending.

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2008-10-13 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oog, the last thing he got from you was the Greek Fire cover...was there anything sent after that?! Now I'm freaking out!

[identity profile] poinko.livejournal.com 2008-10-13 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, there hasn't been anything after that, but I had a lot of MILK! questions beforehand I didn't get any answers for.

[identity profile] doronjosama.livejournal.com 2008-10-13 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah.... I think what happened there is we ended up having to cancel the book before we were planning to. -_-; We were planning to go to #65, but as it turns out, #63 was the last one we were able to produce. It's hard to pay to print a book when the distributor isn't interested anymore. -_-;

I think we were so unhappy about the sudden cancellation that we forgot to reply to you about it. So, I apologize for that. But hey! Furrlough is still going on and is still awesome! Not to mention bigger than ever! ^_^ And we're still going to do the "Milk Presents" books and the SinFactoryComix site, so there's still a place for the stuff that would have been in Milk. ^_^ There's always another way to get stuff out there when one way gets blocked. ^_^v

[identity profile] poinko.livejournal.com 2008-10-13 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That's understandable, and I figured that it might be the case, so I didn't let it get to me TOO much ;)

I'll work on paying attention a bit more closely from now on.

I got legally married at the courthouse too , Elin (Boston). The clerk was surprisingly fun and sweet , for a guy who did this ever day as his job. i guess marrying cute , cuddly couples every day makes you cheerful or something. Congratulations!
