Today I closed out my pull box at the comic store. Don't get me wrong, I love comics. I still want to buy and read comics. But a pull box is no longer for me. I can't justify making poor [livejournal.com profile] theuberbob pull and hold onto comics for me for an eternity until I can get over to the comic store in between my work. Also, I am kinda poor, and comics are a luxury item. So, I will get comics when I see them, and probably just buy more online or at conventions. It feels weird to not have a pull box somewhere and at the same time, kind of liberating, like I've thrown off the shackles of the comic monkey latched to my back. I also used up all my credit, so it's a nice clean slate. (I am liking the whole clean slate idea- I think I am getting a spring cleaning bug, since I am planning to clean up other stuff too!)

But sadly, the Maison Ikkoku Vol. 1 TPB I got today is a misprint. Curses! So I will be going back to the comic store pretty quickly it seems. Heh.

In other things, I've been working. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but it's what I do. good lord, is it ever what I do. I need to do more of it, in fact. I wish there were magically more hours in a day or somehow I could live without sleep. But then I'd end up like David Bowie in The Hunger and that's just no damn good.

I did watch the Oscars, and enjoyed the lovely gowns very much. Also, the lovely Johnny Depp. Mmmmm. Liv Tyler is the cutest thing ever when wearing her glasses, or when scarfing down tons of fried shrimp and french fries with Alan Cumming (as seen on his talk show). I still think her sister is sexier, but I am apparently alone in that. And could Scarlett Johanssen be any prettier? Love her to pieces. I was very happy Lost in Translation won an award. It deserved so much more. Jack Black got to sing, and that was delightful to me even is he is badly in need of a shave. His suit was so nice, how hard could it be to shave?

I saw Club Dread this week, and while it was no Super Troopers in terms of funny, it was all right. Besides, Lindsay Price was in it and I think she's super-pretty. Plus, Samm Levine who I have loved since Freaks and Geeks.

Anyway, I gotta get back to work. I've got auctions percolating away, packages to pack, paperwork to do, boxes to tape up, mail order to process, and email to answer! Plus, Texas Furry Con is this month in Austin starting the 19th, so I have to start getting things together for that. [livejournal.com profile] atomicpanda, I hope it will be okay to crash at your place for the con- I'm arranging for a badge for you (hopefully) and you can have some space on our tables. ^_^
