Haven't had time to post much lately, between work at the DayJob and Radio Comix stuff, so here's a bullet point update of Various Things!

--I took a vacation for the first time in two years to go visit my family up north. The trip served multiple purposes: it was my mom's 60th birthday this month, both my sister and my brother had babies in November last year and I wanted to see them, my pop is likely retiring at the end of this year, and my mom made me an appointment to see a dermatologist about a couple of moles on my face. Turned out the face moles are harmless (I have prescription bleaching cream, like Michael Jackson), but there was a mole on my toe that was Suspicious. So, they cut it out of my toe, leaving me with a square divot-like hole. I find out soon if it was malignant or benign.

--The Radio Comix Online site is chugging along, thanks to Smudge's masterful web-fu. We've got a goodly number of delightful comics up now, free to read. They are:
Bureau of Mana Investigation by Smudge
Coyote by Mel. White
Duncan & Mallory by Robert Asprin & Mel. White
Ebin & May by Smudge & Ed Garcia
Tiger Team Three by Mark Moore
Trouble Express by Will Allison

--We're in the middle of scanning and page cleanup for more comics for the online site- Havoc, INC, Pervert Club and Tales of the Fehnnik. They're sadly going slower than we wanted, due to Will having a lot of computer issues the last year. We've just gotten them all fixed (fingers crossed), so the work is going a bit faster now.

--In Not Safe For Work news, the Sin Factory Comix site has had a complete interior overhaul! (The outside public pages are the same as always.) But the interior is totally revamped, with a shiny new interface! It's been getting updated regularly with more goodies from Sutton, Howell and DAQ, and we've been working on getting even more ready for uploading!

--Our next book is in production right now to ship soonish- the Bureau of Mana Investigation Vol. 1 trade paperback! We're just getting the final bits handled. You can still special order it from your local comic store using the Diamond order code SEP101106! It will also be going up for pre-order on the Radio Comix Online Store in the next couple of weeks. (Untamed #1 and Furrlough #190 are up at the moment! Those are the newest books!)

--Speaking of new books, January 2011 will be when the next Radio Comix print books come out- Genus #93 and Genus: Male #10! Just in time for Further Confusion, which we will definitely be attending!

--The Radio Comix Facebook page is up and running, and I'm trying to keep it updated regularly. Check it out if you are a Facebook-using sort of person!

Other than that, I've been out of town, so I have no new auctions up. I will be doing some at the end of this week though, due to a lot of vet bills from September and October that are still hanging over my head. We lost Batty to a combination of diabetes and a brain tumor in October. Still pretty down about that, but trying to keep busy to get my mind off of it.

Now, back to work, before I have to go into the DayJob at the comic store later today!

Not really doing Xmas this year because 1) we're broke (yeah, I said it; the unexpected plumber visit and another unexpected bill tapped me out) and 2) we're ridiculously busy getting ready for January/February conventions. I'm up to my ears in getting Genus #92 and Genus: Male #9 ready for press (and yes, if you have stuff you were planning for Genus: Male, NOW would be the time to get that to us before it's too late!), also up to my ears in getting stock ready for the convention. Yesterday was the first day in a week and a half that I felt normal and not sick, so here's what I got done:

--processed online store orders
--did a bunch of order paperwork
--made some new Project Wonderful ads
--bought new ads on Project Wonderful for our webcomics
--did five loads of laundry
--changed the bed
--did one load of dishes
--packed the week's mail order and auction packages
--printed the postage for said packages
--updated the Radio Comix online store
--posted auctions on both eBay and FurBuy
--dropped off the mail at the post office; had to wait to send two packages the old fashioned way (it was godawful; the place was full of people holding un-packaged objects they wanted to send other people for Xmas. They could have at least put the stuff in a box! Also, only two clerks, to deal with the hordes of people who had never encountered the idea that postage costs money. Good lord!)
--answered some of the probably hundreds and hundreds of emails clogging my inboxes (still massively behind on all that...)
--started compiling the inventory list for Further Confusion, since I have to ship the stuff out in advance
--gave the cats their weekly grooming

Today it's back to the comic shop salt mines; it is Xmas retail there so it's been exhausting.

Obligatory link spam:
New eBay auctions are here! Lots of graphic novels, comics, and other nerdy goodies.
New FurBuy auctions are here! NSFW! Furry comics, adult comics, adult furry comics, the usual.
And hey, we have free comics you can read, too- you can check them out at this link! We still have dirt cheap Project Wonderful ads available on many pages of our site, starting at five cents per bid!

Current media consumed: Manga: Disappearance Diary by Hideo Azuma; Books: How To Eat by Nigella Lawson; Netflix: The IT Crowd Season 1 and 2

New page of Ebin & May today!

I just realized I'll soon have to cover convention expenses for my trip out to Further Confusion 2010 in January, so I'm stepping up the auctioning!

Incoming Auction Link Spam:

New eBay auctions are here! Lots of graphic novels, comics, and other nerdy goodies. Since we've combined our households, [livejournal.com profile] suarez and I are selling off duplicates of some pretty great rare stuff we've acquired over the years. Definitely check back, since not only will there be more great comics, manga and GNs up over time, but also toys from his vast collection. And I do mean VAST.

New FurBuy auctions are here! NSFW! Furry comics, adult comics, adult furry comics, the usual. There's some more rarities that should be going up soonish, once I get more stuff scanned.

Not auctions, but check out the Radio Comix Online Store! There's a new issue of Genus, as well as a cute Ben Dunn cat-girl poster that was a warehouse find- we printed them back in 1997, when Radio Comix started! They were unearthed in our last move, a whole box of them! And now, available for sale. More goodies coming here also, again, just have to do some scanning.

Twitter and Facebook are nice and fun and all, and good for momentary observations, but I've decided I need to update my journal for real more often. This will take a while to get back into the swing of things! Until then, bits of news I found interesting this morning:

Phthalates may cause hormonal changes in fetuses. Of course it's written a bit scare-tactics-y, sort of an "oh noes, yur babby will be gay!!11!" to use the internet jargon, but it is a weird bit of science. I knew phthalates were bad, but I didn't know they could cause hormone changes. Very strange! (And apologies to my pregnant friends out there, I don't mean to freak you guys out.)

A doctor in China was so into his computer game, he ignored a baby patient to death! I made the D: face when I read that. That's just awful! Online games are actually a horrible social problem in China, from what I've read- people will play them literally until they die. Which is horrible! I just am happy it wasn't Warcraft!

Helena Bonham Carter to play Enid Blyton! This news pleases me, I love historical biopics! And I've been curious about Enid Blyton lately... good on the BBC for realizing I wanted more information. XD

Today is Radio Comix work day; there's lots to do. I've got to write up a couple of press releases for our newest online comics (Trouble Express by Will Allison and Tiger Team Three by Mark Moore), I have to get the mail order ready to go out (and use our brand spanking new postal scale and online postage account- we're in the 21st century finally!), get some auction things scanned and posted, sort more inventory in the garage room; answer email (oh so much email, ow), and finally, do some more editorial work on our next print comics (Genus #92 and Genus: Male #9, which we plan to have done for Further Confusion in January)! Can I cram it all into one day? We shall see!

But hey, the cats are already groomed and coated with their Allerpet-C. It works best when I do it before they get fed, because then they are too busy trying to ingratiate themselves to me, the Keeper of Deliciousness, to fight the grooming process! Ha! Score one for thumbs and a brain bigger than a walnut!

Smudge has a new page of Bureau of Mana Investigation up!

And, Smudge has a new page of Ebin & May up!

And if that wasn't enough comic goodness, Mel. White has a new page of Coyote up as well!

All this, and more, free to read every week at the new, improved RadioComix.com website! Bookmark it, y'all!

Soon, soon, once [livejournal.com profile] willworks gets his new Wacom pen in (the previous one died in the move...), there will also be Trouble Express and Havoc, INC. pages going up. (Stuff is in the cleanup stage, which requires the use of the pen. It's slow going doing Photoshop stuff with the mouse.) Also, Ace & Queenie, Tiger Team Three and Pervert Club! There's even talk of Wildlifers being archived there!

We're very pleased to announce that one of our classic Radio Comix titles, Bureau of Mana Investigation by Smudge Hanson & Ed Garcia is now live and ready for reading online!

BMI is a delightful urban fantasy tale- part police procedural, part high fantasy adventure and part romance! Featuring the expressive art and deft storytelling that Smudge is famous for, it is a fantastic mix of drama, humor and high octane action in the futuristic fantasy setting of Nivarria! Recommended for fans of anime, A Distant Soil or the Shadowrun RPG series.

The first pages are now live on the Radio Comix Online site, and will have regular weekly updates. We hope you'll check it out!
