Today was busy. The morning and afternoon were spent digging restock comics out of the storage, which meant a lot of lifting of heavy boxes. (At 33 pounds each, the boxes of comics are not easy to tote around...) It took forever to get it all pulled and sorted and brought back to the apartment, because naturally, every comic we needed more of was at the bottom of the stacks of boxes.

By the time [livejournal.com profile] willworks and I got home, we were beat, and decided to take the rest of the night off to go and see the big world event in World of Warcraft. Yes, the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj event occurred tonight on our main server. At first, it seemed like it would be a complete and total bust, as the server simply wasn't built to handle the lag created by having hundreds of player characters trying to get to the same place at the same time. The server crashed seven times in succession, with rollbacks every time. We were trying to get my highest level Horde character to the zone where the event was happening (Silithus), but I gave up after the fourth server crash. Instead, our group went to various points around the world where giant Starship Troopers-style bugs were spawning in around huge, dark, floating crystals. Big Anubis guys also wandered around, stepping on all of us. We formed a raid group with a bunch of our guild-mates, and went from place to place, killing things, getting loot, and generally having a good time. I got some very nice drops which upgraded my character's armor, although she now looks like a reject from Xuxa (down to the over-the-knee boots and the skin tight marching band leader pants...) or like a blind clown dressed her in the dark. Even though I wasn't able to participate in the big attack on the super-high-level guys, killing the smaller critters was fun, and I was glad to have gotten to do it. We took a bunch of screenshots which I will link to when we get them posted later. ^_^

During all this video game induced madness, [livejournal.com profile] crynosys and [livejournal.com profile] chasecorbeau dropped by to drop off some artwork. ^_^ I am really excited about the story,and can't wait to run it! I just feel bad that I was so distracted by the shiny internet box.... ^_^;

Tomorrow will be mail-packing day. Also, auction posting, email answering (so many emails, we're falling behind again...), and order processing. I've also still got to squeeze in some time to work on the website at some point, get some new ads made, update the back issue ads, and get some more housework done. And taxes. Can't forget taxes. So, this bit of video game fun will have to hold me for a while.
