After paying some bills today (and watching so much money flit away in one big chunk...), [livejournal.com profile] willworks and I stopped in at the local Goodwill. Ostensibly, we were there so I could attempt to find some more jeans that fit (ha!) or perhaps more work pants, as we are now no longer allowed to wear cargo-style khakis at VGSX. But alas, no pants called to me. However, I did score two awesome vintage skirts for next to nothing! They fit like they were made for me, also, which I am jazzed about. One is a black pencil skirt with a kick pleat made of some kind of semi-smooth, semi-fuzzy fabric. Looks-wise, think Traci Lords in Cry-Baby. Yep, it was almost that tight, but not too tight that I can't sit down. The other is a gray wool flared 1940's-ish college girl skirt with two front pleats. It's really awesome, and I can't wait to wear it with a white button-down shirt or perhaps a sweater and some Audrey Hepburn style flats.

I also scored a red tartan wool blazer that I intend to wear with the sleeves rolled up a little. I'll wear it with skinny black jeans and a black tight punk t-shirt and my Docs. Or maybe I'll pair it with an untucked white button down shirt, a loose black skinny tie, the black jeans and my creepers. I love it when a Goodwill trip is fruitful! It certainly made me feel better about the fact that there were NO jeans that fit me in the place. (Seriously, I was starting to feel like a mutant...)

Apropos of nothing, I saw pictures of Sienna Miller done up as La Sedgwick for the upcoming Factory Girl movie, and the resemblance is passable. The clothes are all perfect, at least. I've been looking for more photos from the production online, but can find nothing, so the one side-by-side photo comparison in the new issue of Teen Vogue is all I have to go on.

Now I am back to the grind of packing up packages and making with the paperwork. It's going to take days to get the tax information prepared for the accountant. And I have a lot of stuff to do if I am going to go out Saturday evening- I usually work on Radio stuff then, but need to shift stuff around so I can go out without guilt.

Ah, once again I have done Elin's Secret Dance, and my hair has been attacked by the clippers. ^_^ It is also re-dyed, in L'Oreal Feria "Starry Night", which is a fancy way to say blue-black.

I feel like a human being again. A human being with short, short hair and long, long bangs. I don't know why, but when my hair starts to get longer than three or four inches, it starts to drive me crazy and makes me uncomfortable. I'm sure this means I am some kind of spaz, and not someone obsessed with the idea of "very short hair"="stylish and modern".
