doronjosamaI signed up to get bulletins from the local club I like, and it's an exercise in temptation. Before, I never knew when they were having events or shows, unless I made a concerted effort to track down the info, and now it is delivered right to me.
And of course, they are having a ton of events this week I'd want to go to- but I can't because of deadlines! Last night, in fact, they had a free cover/cheap beer (I don't drink, but friends do) night when they were going to be playing nothing but old punk, ska and psychobilly on the dance floor. Later this same week, they are having a goth gathering of some sort, and a Bettie Page look-a-like contest that the Flametrick Subs will be playing at. Not to mention the fact that every Saturday is Retrovision night, when they play nothing but 80's stuff. (And I mean the good stuff... they have an awesome DJ.) Later in the month, 45 Grave is coming.
I think it might have been better when I was ignorant of all these events. I am getting too old to go clubbing all the time. (Sleep is so much better...) Also, getting people to go with me to these things is not easy and it gets expensive. (I don't have a particularly club-going group of friends locally... we're homebodies, most of the time.)
