Having difficulty on the baby front too, huh? So am I. Over 6 months now and nothing. I'm getting frustrated.

Been about a year since we stopped trying to *prevent* having a baby. (Which was a weird headspace to get into by itself, I've spent pretty much my whole adult life *avoiding* pregnancy!)

Our biggest issue is that work schedules don't exactly match up, so a lot of the time, we're passing like ships in the night. Stress about finances and work doesn't help either. :P

No, stress is the biggest mood killer. I hear you on the schedules thing. Sometimes the hubby or I are just too tired to do anything but sleep when we finally hit the hay. We stopped the b/c back in September, and I'm starting to get frustrated.

Have you talked to your doctor about the year of "trying" yet?

Hahahahaha, "doctor"! Like I have one yet! Oh, you!

We haven't had health care since my husband lost his bank job a year and a half ago. He finally has a job that could conceivably give benefits, if he can do well enough to not be part-time. Until then, Planned Parenthood is all I've got. :P

(But yes, when I can scrape some money together, I get to go over to PP and see what they can tell me. I am 40 though, so I don't expect it will be easy.)

Sorry sweetheart, I didn't know. PP should be able to give you some assistance in the matter, though. Don't you meet the requirements for Medicaid? I know I was on it way back when I first got on birth control, cause my job didn't offer benefits and I didn't have enough hours to survive on. PP accepted Medicaid and so I used that.

Being 40 doesn't mean it's impossible to get pregnant, it just means its harder. My grandmother had 2 kids past 40 years old! Hopefully you're taking prenatal vitamins, even now, because that will help your body get what it needs to prepare for a possible pregnancy. I highly recommend the chewable, fruity versions you can find at Target, because the pill variety makes me ill.

Hang in there, and I'll help any way I can, even if its just being an ear you can bitch to.

*Hugs* Yeah, we're hoping the new job works out, so we can have "real insurance" again! I have to laugh though, I haven't had health insurance since I worked at Antarctic Press, but it's never really mattered til now that I want a kid. Ain't life funny?

There's also the local low-income hospital, which we might qualify for, just have to check it out. (Since I own Radio, it makes me a weird case for things like that...)

My grandma had a kid after she was 40 too, and my aunt turned out perfectly okay. I've been taking the prenatal vitamins already- I think they might be part of the reason my cycle has gotten so clock-work like regular, honestly!
