So tired...

Another list of accomplishments for today, dubious as they may be:

Radio-wise:
--answered email
--moderated the Radio Forum
--processed orders once the online catalog got up and running again today- it was down due to the gateway being screwed up
--prepped order stuff for order packing tomorrow
--worked on tax paperwork prep
--wrote solicitation copy for the August books for Previews and sent it off to [livejournal.com profile] matthigh- they go out tomorrow to Diamond
--drove around to three different office supply places with [livejournal.com profile] willworks to try to find some forms we need for taxes- a complete bust, as no one had them
--picked up the mail at the PMB
--packed more trib copy packages (probably about 30)
--answered more email
--dealt with auction stuff, but didn't get any posted today. Rats.
--did more paperwork regarding trib copies, royalties, etc.
--packed some reorders for smaller distro/retailer orders
--sorted comics into the proper boxes in my office
--answered even more email

Personal-wise:
--cleaned the oven
--actually remembered to eat food a couple of times
--watched some terrible new wrestling league's show at [livejournal.com profile] suarez's place which he was foolhardy enough to buy on Pay-Per-View- a waste of money, unless you count comedic value, which was slim
--finished reading The Demon Ororon, which has had some of the worst English rewrite I have seen on a TokyoPop manga in a long, long time. The rewriter should be ashamed, as should the editor. It was sloppy, flat and actually detracted from the story. The lettering was also pathetic, as some word balloons simply had letter salad in them or text that was cut off and completely missing. Typos on almost every page. Maybe I'm the only person who notices such things, but it was quite awful- and a real shame since the book has an interesting story premise and a cool, unusual art style. Apparently the rewriter works for Devil's Due, which just makes me all the more suspect of those books, and glad I never read any of them. I don't know if I will get the rest of Ororon, because it was so badly done it affected my enjoyment of the book. Perhaps I am just spoiled by Jamie Rich's excellent rewrite work on other TokyoPop books or the good rewrite on Paradise Kiss.
--worried about the current million dollar War on Porn

Can't sleep, but will have to try anyway. Maybe I'll read instead. But not Ororon. It hurt my head with the typos.

Well, their editing leaves a lot to be desired, if this book is any indication. ^_^; Bad spelling! Wrong word usage (site for sight, their for they're, etc.)! Typos galore! It made my editor brain hurt a lot. ^_^;

Devil's Due mostly does comics I am not interested in (like G.I. Joe and stuff) so I've mostly avoided their books on that basis. I have no idea what their business stuff is like. ^_^;

I see what you mean. That kind of thing drives me nuts too - not necessarily on LJ, but in things I pay to read, definitely.

I don't see "kicked DP's ass" on that list, missy.
You know, nobody else is gonna do it for you.
Well, unless you ask nicely, I guess. (grin).
