The cable guy has come over (well before the appointed hours of "between noon and four") and hooked us up with the cable phone. The SBC phone has been cancelled, and now we have internet, cable and phone all through the same company. The only down side is that we can only have one phone hooked up, since we only have one cable drop in the apartment. Darn them socks. It's not so bad though, since we just hooked the cordless phone up to it. The fax machine presents a pickle, but since literally NO ONE ever faxes us anymore except spam companies, it's not really a problem. (Diamond now emails all things they used to fax.) We only use the fax machine to send shipping information to the printers, but I'm betting they have an email function for that nowadays. I still have to work out how to hook up the answering machine to the current phone, since the thing is so old, we lost the instructions.

Indy is recovering from an injury he sustained in a fight with Batty. He's still favoring his hurt leg, but it looks like there isn't any infection. This is good, because we can't really afford to take him to the vet right now. ^_^;

We turned Furrlough #164 in to the printers yesterday; we're also in the middle of working on Milk #55 and Porndexters #2. Other things I need to do this week: get some reorders out of the storage and ship them; write and send off the February solicitations for Diamond; mail order; paperwork; more bill juggling. Whee, it's going to be a very busy week.

I also have to put some of my office back in order, as I had to move a bunch of shelves to get at the phone jack in there to unplug the phone.

It's raining today.

You could concievably get rid of the fax machine too, actually. There're online solutions like eFax and you could probably find something that would let your cable modem serve as a fax as well.

It's not that big a deal really, when we realized the only thing we ever use the fax machine for is to send the printer (who is IN TOWN) the shipping instructions. We could drive those over to them if we really wanted to! Or give them to them when we give them the books. It's all good.

Literally, the only faxes we receive are from companies trying to sell us Deluxe Luxury Cruise Vacation Packages, Super Affordable Health Insurance or Awesome Cheap Stocks, or from companies claiming they are "buying businesses in your area!" Yeah, right, someone's gonna buy our business? Puh-lease. I think not.

I love those faxes. I get them every day here! The BEST ones were when the hurricane directly AFTER Katrina was headed this way.
