Why can't we get cosplay acts like this here in America? (Okay, it's not a cosplay contest, it's a salsa dancing competition in Korea. But still.)

New auctions up today on eBay and FurBid, plus still goodies for sale on my Etsy shop. Thanks in advance for checking them out!

Today I need a haircut, to do some mail order that didn't get taken care of during the week, and to work on the deadlines for Monday. And somehow squeeze in laundry and housework. So, of course, both The Prestige and Marie Antoinette have opened. Why does the movie industry release nothing of interest to me for ages and then have everything I would like to see come out at the same time? It's frustrating. Watched Faster, Pussycat, Kill, Kill! last night on Turner Classic Movies and it was awesome. Why aren't women built like Tura Satana and Haji anymore? Seriously, what is wrong with the world when women who look like that are now considered fat?!

I've got to rent "Faster, Pussycat, Kill, Kill", I've never seen it.
Tura Satana kicks ass!
My mom used to be a gang leader back in her schooldays.

I met Tura Satana at the big horror show we went to in Jersey during the Chasing Amy filming. It was weird because I had this picture of her in my mind and, of course, it was 30 years later and all I could think of is that she looked like someone's kindly mom. Except with jet black Bettie Page hair.

I also met Dolemite there. And Caroline Munro (got her autograph) and Ed Wood's ex-girlfriend Dolores Fuller (played by Sarah Jessica Parker in the Tim Burton film...got her autograph as well!). I wish I'd brought more money and a camera. I remember that Mike was excited that Kerry Gammill was there promoting something so he got to catch up with him a bit. Oh, and John Philip Law from "Barbarella" and Sinbad in one of the Harryhausen films.

Sorry...reminiscing and got carried away. It was fun.

WTF happened to my comment?

"what is wrong with the world when women who look like that are now considered fat?!"

i just got some vintage sewing books mixed in with an order of vintage knitting books, and was stunned to discover that in 1953 a Women's/Misses Size 12 measured 30-25-33. i knew Marilyn Monroe was like, a 16 at the time, but even that was only 34-28-37 -- and we think of her as having been fairly bustuous.
