FINAL:: 100

Now Add them up and......
put "I've seen xxx of these 232 movies" in the subject line and repost

This list really should be "I've seen xxx of these 232 mostly crap/blockbuster/really mainstream movies". Krippendorf's Tribe?! Come on now, people. (Yeah, I saw it, I've watched a lot of really terrible movies on cable when stuck in hotel rooms at conventions...) I notice the test is also skewed heavily towards "geek" movies. Also, since I've seen 100 of them, I apparently have no life. But I coulda told you that without taking the test!

Until college, I had never seen Labyrinth or Dark Crystal. I had seen The Neverending Story though, so I wasn't a total melvin. Now I've seen Labyrinth, and it's kind of soured me on ever seeing Dark Crystal.

No, you HAVE to see The Dark Crystal. The Dark Crystal is fucking brilliant, and nine million times better than Labyrinth, and I say that only having seen pieces of Labyrinth over the years. (I'm sorry, I love Bowie, but some of his performances in Labyrinth are *embarrassing*.)

The Dark Crystal also completely owns because Brian Froud designed everything. And everything is man-made, down to the insects in outdoor scenes. It's unbelievable, the level of detail and the scale of the movie. I still can't believe that Henson didn't like it and wanted it to seem more "puppety", like Labyrinth.

Original 1982 Theatrical Trailer for The Dark Crystal. ^_^ I saw it in the theatre when I was 11. It was so cool, I was obsessed with it for years. Seriously, go see it.

Its sad that Mirror Mask didn't do well in the US, I wanted to see the rumored Dark Crystal sequel... ;_;

Oh, all right. As long as it doesn't have Jennifer Connelly, I guess I'll have to see it.

*looks down at following post* See there's the thing, I was only two years old in '82.

The dark crystal is AWESOME, Labyrinth is the suck. *some* of his performances are embarassing? acccccccckkkkk. And I'm the biggest Bowie fan here, too.

Yeah, despite the hotness of the tight leather pants, the boots and the riding crop, Bowie seems like he's totally mugging for the camera during his songs, like a "can you believe I'm singing with puppets?!" kinda thing.

I really should watch the movie since I have it, but I just haven't found the time yet...

To compare Labyrinth to the Dark Crystal is like eating a rat shit sandwich out of desperation, only to see the triple decker ham and muenster on rye on the other plate. ^_^

Which one isthe rat shit sandwich and which is the triple decker ham and muenster on rye?

Ah, my apologies. Rat Shit Sandwich= Labyrinth. Triple Decker Ham & Muenster (on Rye, of course)= Dark Crystal. Clash of the Titans= Jello dish moulded in a bizzare image of Michael Dukakis, using pieces of fruit for his eyebrows. Not to say Labyrinth by itself is a Rat Shit Sandwich, but if you were to compare the two. By itself, it would be more like a Balogna Sandwich with mayo left out for a few days.

Fair enough...but where does The Neverending Story fit in? And its sequels?

From: [identity profile] ichbinkeinenazi.livejournal.com
Phew, where to begin?

Neverending Story to Labyrinth= Supersized serving of Dublin Dr. Pepper (if you've not had original formula Dr. Pepper, then you have not truly lived!) given to you in a golden chalice by Scarlett Johannsen.

Neverending Story to Dark Crystal= Getting to the last piece of crabmeat rangoon at the chinese buffet, but still wanting more rangoons. And the waitress has a lazy eye, and you're not sure if she's looking at you or your girlfriend.

Neverending Story II: The Next Chapter to Labyrinth= "Hey dude, you want me to whip up some taquitos? That green shit on it? Don't worry about it, dude. The microwave should kill it off..."

Neverending Story II: The Next Chapter to Dark Crystal= A plate of haggis covered in Cheez Whiz(tm), and ol' Angus won't let you get up from the table unless you'll have his "family recipe". And ol' Angus has a reeeeeeeeeeeeeal big stick in his hand. And his team just lost to Manchester United.

Neverending Story III: Escape from Fantasia to Labyrinth= Being force fed about 40lbs of lawn mulch from a yard occupied by twenty-someodd dogs, most of which have the runs due to eating some haggis type dish covered in a substance not found in nature.

Neverending Story III: Escape from Fantasia to Dark Crystal= Imagine replacing Annabel Chong with yourself in her epic classic "The World's Largest Gangbang".

Which goes to show that there are fantasy movies even worse than Labyrinth! A little Krull, anyone?

Oh holy crap...

I just remembered Legend! Now you have to make up food analogies for Legend vs. all the other films!

As a side note, I didn't actually think you'd seen any of the Neverending Story sequels. I haven't. Wow, you must have no life. *winkety wink*

Heh, I saw Neverending Story III because it had Jack Black in it, and boy, was that ever a mistake. That movie made absolutely zero sense, and was terrible besides. ^_^;

Legend though, gets a big pass from me because of two things: Ridley Scott and Tim Curry. ^_^ I can ignore Crazypants Tom Cruise in a metal mini-dress since those other things are present. ^_~

But remember, Tom Cruise wasn't crazy yet in those days! ^_^ He was just sliding around in his underwear and shooting birds to Commie fighter pilots back then.
