No one ever really liked Loverboy, did they? I honestly can't imagine that they were once someone's favorite band ever.

The weekend was busy, much like the rest of the week. I had a lot of work, both day job wise and Radio wise, and I'm still fighting off this horrible cold thing. (Which actually, has turned out to be a sinus infection... I am getting antibiotics today though, so that's a good thing!) Friday night we went to have Chinese with [livejournal.com profile] ichbinkeinenazi, Susan and their kids, then hung out with [livejournal.com profile] denshousha, [livejournal.com profile] matthigh, [livejournal.com profile] jameshanrahan, [livejournal.com profile] densetsujin, Trent and Kelly at the apartment, and had a nice time watching anime, obscure Chaplin shorts and Rebelde. Saturday, I worked on Radio stuff, then [livejournal.com profile] suarez and I went to see the Rocky Horror play that my friend Lee was appearing in. It was very nice to see him and some of the other old friends who showed up. Sunday, Suar and I went to Sea World to activate the new season passes he got for us (I think he gets a discount through his job...). We didn't hit any rides at all, instead just looked at the animals and such. (Though, seeing the killer whale show made me really sad, for some unknown reason.) Thus, we got to hear some really stupid comments from the general public, which are as follows:

(In the puffin exhibit):
Woman to child: "Those aren't penguins, they're birds!"

Man to girlfriend: "Those are birds, not ducks!"

(In the penguin exhibit):
Woman: "Is that some kind of bird-fish?!"

(At the Asian otter exhibit):
Man to children: "Those are the babies of the seals we just saw!"

Ah, humanity, how can you be so stupid? It was just like something out of Idiocracy.

After that, I had a store meeting at work, so I went there. Then, home to play a little tiny bit of WoW, and then sleep. Today I have a rare weekday off, so I am working on Radio stuff with [livejournal.com profile] willworks (mail order, errands, production work, etc.) and will go to pick up my prescription later. Which is good, since the snot coming out is still bright dayglo green, now with added blood! Delightful! I also have to pay a printing bill today.

One bonus of this weekend was in talking to my old friends at Rocky Horror, I was able to get back in touch with one of my dearest friends from back in the day, [livejournal.com profile] senni. It's so cool to hear from her again after all these years!

And now, the obligatory auction posting:
New eBay auctions are here!

The Sea World observations remind me of the time I was at the Los Angeles zoo, and was looking at the black jaguar they had. Some woman was with two guys, and when she saw the black jaguar she declared, "That's not a jaguar! This sign is wrong! That's a panther. Jaguars look like tigers."

You'd think that, with all the penguin-related movies released over the past few years ("Surf's Up" is my favorite! :D), the general populace would know what penguins look like and/or what they are.
Then again, most of them can't even spell "Antarctica" right.

Or pronounce it. Every time I hear "ann-artica", my eye starts twitching.

IT'S ANT-ARC-TICA! This ain't French, where half the letters aren't pronounced! xP

Hey now! I'm French and shit! :D

Actually, given Americans' penchant for turning "T" into "D", I'm surprized it's not pronounced "AN-DARC-DICA"! :D

So, people go to zoos and don't learn anything then? they just coo at the cute aminals? The American resistance to knowledge is strong.

An awesome .sig I saw on a forum: "They should pass a Constitutional amendment making it illegal to learn anything. If it works as well as Prohibition did, in five years Americans would be the smartest people on Earth"

One of the coolest things I saw last time I went to Sea World: there's a pack of feral sea-lions seperated from the ones you can feed. And they're fracking HUGE. And tattooed with numbers.

Turns out the three of 'em discovered a salmon fishery run that emptied out into the bay in Washington, parked themselves at the exit and enjoyed an All-You-Can-Eat buffet until the owners had a bounty put on 'em.

We saw those! I was wondering why they had tattoos on their backs!

Oh, and ps, I saw a gal named Tracy at Rocky Horror who said she knew you. Nice lady!

Oooooh prescription. Someone got all fancy with insurance, did they? ~_^ It was great seeing you and the gang again, though Miachu (the one from Myspace lurking online) was mad because she didn't get to go in with Lidia to sit next to you. The kids and Susan had fun, and Lidia couldn't stop talking about you that night! ^_^

Actually my coverage hasn't kicked in yet- I did the classy "beg Dr. Joe Dunn for antibiotics" trick. ^_^; $4 antibiotics from Wal-Mart? Score!

It's the gift that keeps on giving! I've had it stuck in my head for days. It's torture.
